Gentle Nurturing offers classes in English and Spanish, making the certification accessible to family and caretakers, and it is recommended for all those who might be caring for the baby.
We offer Infant, Child and Adult CPR, taught by Red Cross certified instructors. Our motto is "Have dummies, will travel," and our instructors bring the mannequins to your home.
The class is long, if done in one session, and most pregnant women cannot last an entire class. Also, if you are taking the class after the birth, it is often difficult to time the session around feedings, sleeping and parental exhaustion, so classes can be divided into 2 or 3 sessions.
We can offer the training for up to 8 people at one time, and we have been known to have "pot luck lunch CPR", family reunion CPR, or block party CPR. You can take the CPR with or without the First Aid Class, and we have a First Aid Kit available for purchase, stocked with all the items you might need to care for an injured baby, toddler or child, until medical help is sought (if necessary).
