A Baby Nurse is either a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or a Registered Nurse (RN), with a degree from an accredited school. Her training and work experience provides her with a wealth of information and teaching skills. She provides comfort to the new parent(s) in sorting out the "real" from the "imagined" worries about the baby, while allowing the parent(s) to learn about the baby through the first weeks of the newborn's life.
A Baby Nurse educates and supports the new parent(s), troubleshoots potential issues of concern and offers professional options to resolve them. She educates and refreshes the parent(s) to understand their newborn in terms of the baby's development. She anticipates issues of concern and poses solutions. She will care for all aspects of the baby's daily routines and teach you everything you need to know. Although oftentimes trained in breastfeeding, most Baby Nurses relinquish any difficult breastfeeding issues or concerns to a Lactation Consultant.
